Log calories from a photo

The hard entry is never the yoghurt with a barcode. It is the restaurant plate, the casserole, the buffet — things with no packet that you cannot judge in grams.

That is what the photo is for: plate in frame, shutter. Back comes a list — which foods were recognised, how many grams are estimated, what that adds up to in calories.

An estimate is an estimate

We say that plainly, because it is the point where this kind of feature gets uncomfortable in other apps: you cannot measure the weight of a schnitzel from a picture. What zweitaps returns is a reasoned assumption — and every number in it can be changed before you save. Nothing is quietly recorded as fact.

For packaged food the barcode is the more accurate route, and it is free. The photo is for everything else.

What it costs

Each picture costs one credit, because it is computed on our server: 100 photos for 2,99 €, 500 photos for 9,99 €. One-time purchase, no subscription. Logging by search or barcode stays free.

What happens to the picture

It goes to our server once, gets analysed, and is not stored. Plate photos are not synced between your devices either. What remains is the entry, not the image.
